Support Resources

If you have questions beyond the Knowledgebase or Video Tutorials, the Support Center is available to you. Please note that all support requests must be submitted through the support center, and questions through all other channels (including Item Comments, Emails, Facebook, Twitter, etc) will be referred there. Thanks for your cooperation! (You can click the “Support” tab at the top of this page for more details on support)

    I'm having issues with the plugin on the Shopkeeper theme when I try to build submenu via the Tabs sub item. When I hover over my menu the animation is frozen over the first sub item on my menu. Even when I scroll my mouse up and down, there is no animation change. I've also had some difficulties in styling submenus on Shopkeeper, but I'll keep it to one question at a time :)

    Hi Borisla, It's not a bug with UberMenu, but a bug in the latest version of Chrome. However, we've already released a fix and also provided that to themes that include UberMenu for distribution to their customers. The issue only occurs when the browser is animating max-height, so in the meantime the simplest solution is to just change your submenu transition to something other than Slide Reveal. If you have any further questions, please contact the support of the theme you purchased, as they'll handle all support for products included with your purchase.

    Hi livonu, No, as the importer won't import custom menu item meta data, though it wouldn't be helpful since the menu items would be tied to sample posts anyway. We do have a complete video tutorial walkthrough in the Recreating the demo section of the Knowledgebase, however. • sevenspark

    Hi Pippin, I'm not 100% sure I understand the question. Currently the menu needs to be placed in a registered menu "theme location". The intended functionality is that it acts as the default menu for a theme (and overrides that theme's menu styles) - but you could always add a second or third menu location if that's what you're looking for (with some PHP coding). Perhaps I will also add a function (either PHP or a shortcode) that will let you put the menu anywhere you'd like, if that would be helpful. Also, note that you can't have more than one UberMenu on a page (though you could have one UberMenu and a separate regular menu). Let me know if that answers your question - if not, if you can give me more details or a specific use case I might be able to answer better. Thanks! Chris

    Any soon-to-be updates to support multiple uber-menus?

  • sevenspark

    2011-02-25 09:54:01
    Purchased Reply

    Right now there are non immediate plans to support more than one UberMenu per page (you could put different UberMenus on different pages currently). It is, however, on my list of things to look into for the future. It would be difficult to create an out-of-the-box solution that would work with n menus due to the CSS ID constraints. This is a trade-off that allows UberMenu to work more smoothly with more themes, though it adds the 1 UberMenu restriction. Thanks for your question :)

    Hey Ryan, Thanks for your purchase, glad you like it :) This sounds like a z-index issue. Try using these styles in your theme's style.css:

    #navigation {
    If that doesn't work, contact me through my contact form with temporary WP and FTP credentials and I'll take a look directly (I'm currently on vacation so I'll need to get on a Windows machine so I can test in IE - my laptop runs Linux). Best, Chris

    Hi DailyClaims, The uberMenu_easyIntegrate code needs to replace your old menu code if your theme does not support WP3 Nav Menu locations. Please review http://wpmegamenu.com/help/#MEGA-add-wp3-menu-support If your menu has issues in IE, you can try flipping the IE Fix switch. Otherwise, this can result if you have left a tag open in your code or if you have javascript from another plugin that is causing an error. Best, Chris

    Hey Chris, I downloaded last Wednesday, but I just updated. After the update, things look pretty much the same (though with access to more skins and admin adjustments!) I still cannot figure out why IE is having such a hard time with this! It'll crash no matter what. It may load 1/2 and crash, or load everything and in the final stages, erase the CSS and then crash. I don't get it. Unless I accidently deleted something, I changed very very little of the code. (Just inserted Easy Integration code). Meanwhile, in better-browswer-land, everything works exactly how it should. Any more suggestions? Also, much like the heirarchy layout in the Support Manual, could you identify the CSS elements to adjust font sizes? I only want to tweak a skin by making the dropdown display slightly smaller font. FireBug isn't able to view the text I'm trying to change! Thank you so much for your support! Matt

    I don't know exactly what you mean by the free menu plugins, but I think your best bet is still switching on UberMenu Easy Integration and then adding the one line of code to your theme, if your theme doesn't already support WP3 Nav Menus properly:

    But if you'd rather not edit your theme you can put a text widget in a widget area and just put the following as the content of the widget: [uberMenu_easyIntegrate] Either way, you'll still need to have Easy Integration activated. It just gives more flexibility for placing the menu.

    Hi Anna, Yes, you can use UberMenu with Striking, but you'd need to add some CSS. Striking's menu and header elements are absolutely positioned, so when you replace the default menu with UberMenu, you'll need to reposition UberMenu accordingly. For previous customers, the following CSS has been used successfully:

    #megaMenu {
      right: -15px;
      bottom: 0;
      position: absolute !important;
    Hope that helps! Chris

    Hi Joe, The shortcode uses the same settings as UberMenu's icons - UberMenu > Image Settings > Scale and Crop Images. If that is on, timthumb will automatically resize the images. If it is off, it will simply load the featured image and let the browser resize the image accordingly (which is what seems to be happening for you). So I'd recommend turning Scale and Crop Images on. Best, Chris

    Hi Margue, Yes, I expect it will install out of the box (Duotive does great work, I expect their theme is coded very well). The question will be if you'll need to customize styling if the theme's CSS interferes with UberMenu's CSS. If you'd like to send me a copy of the theme I can test it out for you and let you know if it'll work. Just send me an email via my contact form and I'll respond so you can send an attachment :) Keep in mind that UberMenu will not automatically adopt the Duotive Three menu styles. If you want that, you'll need to customize, most likely with custom CSS. Hope that helps! Chris

    I am trying to make the images with NOTEXT like 35 x 35. But the bigger I make them - they are not centered VERTICALLY? Where in the CSS can I tweak it so I can have bigger images without having them align to BOTTOM of the bar? I know I can adjust the margin-padding - but when I do that it affects text and all - I just want to manipulate the NOTEXT buttons/images.

    Hi, It's tough to provide a recommendation without seeing the issue firsthand, but here are 2 suggestions: 1. Change the line-height of the top level title text

    #megaMenu ul.megaMenu > li > a > span.wpmega-link-title{
    2. Or, set padding/margin for the normal items and notext items separately. You can target the notext items with this class: ss-nav-menu-notext Hope that helps! Chris
